CNN article claims that Software Engineer is the best ranking job in the US.

Software Engineer is the best ranking job in the US - do you sense this anyway?
Money? Respect? :)

I'll tell you a story...
On my first day in my current company I printed something on network printed and went across the corridor to pick it up. By the time I showed up some other guy from neighboring cube came up to the printer. He was wearing an old t-shirt and shorts. I was shocked a bit first, but then one of colleagues kindly explained that this is the kind of home-like environment you usually see in Software Companies. They are infamous for being informal and not requiring anything even close to suit and tie (most of them at least)...

1) $120.000/year
2) No, because IT-workers in SB don't contact with clients :)

Well if you are:
1) an IT contractor
2) know how to and can sell youself

Then this is actually realistic. :-)

Wish you to became Manager already :-)
