Stock market panics about Trump's tariffs.

My NVDA sell order at $117.90 somehow got filled today

Tariffs on Taiwan will tank nvidia into the ground
...
Holy f, history repeating itself after all

Shortly after Cleveland's second term began, the Panic of 1893 struck the stock market, leaving Cleveland and the nation to face an economic depression.[
...
Stop panicking. Panicking is what causes the crash.
...
Don't worry about the mass unemployment and price hikes got it
This can be a trade War we haven't had that since the Plaza Accords Era
Nvda at 113

Think or swim won’t let me dump
...
That’s my outlook, anything less than 50% isn’t worth cutting for loss. And I’ll certainly be at -50% loss at open

I’m going to wait and hope for this tariff bullshit to settle and people to realize that deepseek or not, everyone is going to need nvidia gpus… hopefully in the next few weeks
...
I’m literally kicking myself because I sold a $100 nvda put leap I bought for cheap thinking there’s no way that will ever hit. Fuck
...
Tarrifs on your premiums
...
Today's high is $118 in the overnight market. Likely your order was filled right after that one. Probably couldn't have done better. Nice work!
...
I was a bit too greedy to sell at 118.50. Still managed to sell for 116 though.
...
Yeah it was honestly a lucky guess. I should’ve sold last week but my fault for doubting these dumb tariffs will actually happen.
...
Eh, don't beat yourself up. These things are impossible to predict, and the current administration makes it even more volatile than usual. For all we know, tariffs are cancelled tomorrow, and we're back to ath later this week. Although, I personally don't think that's very likely.
...
Why don't you sell at 140 last week
...
Same reason you didn’t buy puts?

They Trump and Musk both said that there will be hurt in the economy as they put tariffs in place. No kidding. The stock market is going to lose trillions upon trillions in value from the trade wars and the people of the U,S. are going to find higher and higher prices and harder and harder to find ...
...
Trump wants to pass a budget reconciliation bill in the first 100 days. By far the biggest ticket item is extending the 2017 tax cuts, set to expire this year. The CBO estimated this would add to the deficit $4.6T over 10 years or $460B per year. In contrast, the Tax Foundation found that the new tariffs will raise about $111B per year maximum and decrease economic output, not accounting for any retaliatory measures.
...
OMB also estimated these tariffs would shrink the economy by 2% and $1.3 trillion in tax revenues to offset $750 billion of extra cost to extend the tax cuts. Yep makes a lot of sense. Of course this is all Biden's fault.
...
There is going to be a bloodbath on Wall Street when the exchanges open tomorrow morning. The scary part is that no one really knows how soon the hemorrhaging in the equities market will end.
...
2025 . The stock market will plummet 30% , if not more …. Then trump will blame everyone BUT himself … Inflation will soar due to the tariffs … Then trump will blame everyone BUT himself . Trump does not work for you or me …. He works for Putin .
...
This man with multiple bankruptcies, who couldn’t successfully run a Subway Sandwich Shop, is wasting no time in harming our economy in his zeal to seek revenge against our allies. I am furious.
...
So we'll all be paying more for everything and the government will be collecting these tariffs. The tariffs will go into the government coffers and pay for tax cuts for billionaires and corporations.
...
So alienating our allies, cratering our own economy, and destroying the stock market? That's how we're "making America great again"?
...
The stable genius strikes again. The art of bankruptcy.

Musk outlines scope of plan for DOGE cuts, starting with USAID

Musk said he has Trump’s blessing for the move to end USAID as a stand-alone agency and fold what’s left of it into the State Department. If it turns out the US really needs such an organization in the future — or any of the regulations he aims to cull — they could simply just be created again.

USAID doesn't do squat for the poor people in humanitarian crisis beyond the bare minimum needed to support their PR campaign to convince us they are a "humanitarian" organization. I was a USAID contractor for eight years and was astounded by the level of corruption and incompetence. One of my local USAID reps tried to get me fired because he insisted that I hire a PR firm for $500,000 per year to manage a marketing program everyone agreeed we didn't need (except him of course). Turns out, his wife was a partner in the firm he wanted me to hire. Another local USAID rep disagreed with me when I recommended shutting down a multi-million dollar per year project because were were accomplishing absolutely zero and the local group we were advising only kept us there because their government agreed to accept USAID advisors. Her response was "I know you aren't accomplishing anything but that doesn't matter. If we cancel the project, we can't ask for more money for next year's budget."

In the eight years I worked for USAID in three different countries, I never once saw or heard of any boxes of food being delivered to anywhere. Just a lot of NGO's set up put money in the pockets of locals and local politicians who would support US policy, buy US military equipment, sell off their country's land and businesses to US companies, and promote their liberal social programs to indoctrinate the local population into the US way of thinking.
