Google Circles vs LiveJournal

Silicon Valley debates if Google+ would kill Facebook and Twitter.
I wonder what would happen to LiveJournal.
It looks like Google Circles would directly compete with features that LiveJournal has (and FaceBook/Twitter do not).
LiveJournal allows to friend people without them them friend you back. Facebook does not do that.
That's probably why LiveJournal is still alive even though technically it fell behind.

Now Google Circles may finally kill LiveJournal...
