Art: realistic history vs popular depiction

This is a realistic depiction of Napoleon crossing the Alps (by Delaroche):

Compare it with the most famous depiction (by David):

=====

Arthur George, 3rd Earl of Onslow, who had a large Napoleonic collection, was visiting the Louvre with Paul Delaroche in 1848 and commented on the implausibility and theatricality of David's painting. He commissioned Delaroche to produce a more accurate version which featured Napoleon on a mule. While Delaroche's painting is more realistic than the symbolic heroic representation of David, it was not meant to be demeaning - Delaroche admired Bonaparte and thought that the achievement was not diminished by depicting it in a realistic fashion.

After 1837, Delaroche stopped exhibiting his work altogether. The disappointing public reception of his painting, St. Cecilia, along with his overall rejection of Davidian values in French society and government led him to his “self-imposed exile from the government-sponsored Salons.”

At 50, you should never read a book you liked at 14

Masters (extraterrestrial slugs) are turning humans into slaves and the world is divided. Problem is that even in the "free" territory only relationships Heinlein could imagine are master : slaves relationship. Love interest of our hero is intelligent woman and when she marries him, she turns into obedient slave with very limited vocabulary ("yes, dear"). The boss of our hero (and his father) is his master until the moment they switch the roles and afterwards he's just a slave. Etc. I started wondering why they're so dead set against those slugs. :(

This novel really hasn't aged well.

Donald Trump in 1988

===========
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GmNN2MCJ-7U&feature=youtu.be&t=1004
Letterman: But you are worth like 4 billion dollars or something?
Trump: I hope so.
...
Trump: We are living in very precarious times. If you look at what certain countries are doing to this country, such as Japan. I mean, they've totally taken advantage of the country. ...
===========

Trump did not change.

Back then he was vague about his wealth he is vague about his wealth now.

Back then he was blaming other countries (Japan) for taking advantage of the US. Now he is blaming other countries (China and Mexico) for taking advantage of the US.

More Trump history.
